Control your iPod without looking at it!

Hipui Funkyplayer App demonstrates one possible implementation scenario for Hipui UI Engine. It allows you to control your music player while walking, biking, snowboarding or jogging – actually, while doing almost anything. Funkyplayer employs gesture and touch input and spatial 3D audio, enabling completely eye-free operation of the device. Play safe without needing to take your eyes off what you are doing.

Funkyplayer lays your menu and music items in a 3D audio space that wraps around you. Just browse your music with a simple turn of your wrist or, when it’s more convenient, switch to touch-screen mode. The logic driving both the visual and the 3D auditory menus is identical – so just carry on browsing even when you can’t look at the display.

Quick start with gesture control

Funkyplayer introduces completely new way of controlling your device, so here are some useful tips for eyes-free use.

  • Imagine that menu items are around you and you hear them from the direction you are pointing your device to.
  • In the gesture mode, do not try to look at the screen! Turn your wrist as you would be holding a joystick in your hand and gently make 360 degrees rotation.
  • In touch mode, press your finger to the screen and continue browsing with circular finger sweeps and lift your finger to select.
